Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt
of your despatch No.266 of 21st July, 1939,
(the
regarding (the claim by the relatives of the Chinese
seaman, Cheung Kwai Wan, who lost his life as a
result of the sinking of the s.s. "Thorpeness" on
21st June, 1938.

The relatives have now decided to accept
the offer of £25. 0. 0., and I shall be glad if
you will inform the Board of Trade of this decision.
